Restorative Dentistry

When you have missing teeth, have spaces between teeth, or even a fractured tooth, there are different options to restore your smile. Restorative Dentistry includes crowns, bridges, composites, implants and dentures, all of which Dr. VreNon or Dr. Sarles are accredited for.

Crowns:

A crown is a porcelain restoration that covers the decayed or damaged tooth. Crowns are placed completely over the tooth to stabilize it and restore normal chewing function. These restorations are carefully customized to match surrounding teeth.

Bridges:

A dental bridge is a replacement option for missing teeth. A traditional bridge consists of an artificial tooth supported on each side by a dental crown. The crowns cover the teeth on either side of the missing tooth and the artificial tooth closes the space.

Implants:

Implants are the preferred method for replacing missing teeth. Implants are placed in the bone and osseointergrate within 3-6 months. Implants have three separate components needed to replace a single tooth; the implant (placed below the gum), the abutment (above the gum), and the implant crown (final restoration). This is the best replacement option to restore full chewing and biting function.

Dentures/Partial Dentures:

Dentures replace missing teeth. The removable prosthetic device resembles the missing tooth/teeth and gums. Dentures can replace a full arch of missing teeth or single to multiple missing teeth on an arch. Dentures are incredibly lifelike and long lasting. In some cases, dentures can be anchored to dental implants for greater longevity.
